胡桃女神

Look out 鈥 we鈥檙e making it easier to re-use and recycle on Mull

胡桃女神 is making improvements to its household recycling facility at Glengorm, Mull, before moving to its sites at Helensburgh, Islay, Coll, and Colonsay.鈥

This will create a better experience for customers who use the sites, encourage more people to re-use and recycle, and help community groups to raise funds and provide valuable local services. 鈥

We can do this thanks to funding from the Scottish Government鈥檚 Recycling Improvement Fund.鈥

Works start on the Glengorm site on 23 June and will include concrete work, new surfacing, bays for materials, additional containers, storage for reuse, and new signage to make it easier to navigate the sites.鈥

During the improvement work, the Glengorm site will keep normal opening hours and all our usual services. However, over the next three weeks there may be some disruption, which could result in delays of up to two hours on site. We will do all we can to keep longer delays to a minimum and appreciate your patience during this time. Please follow any instructions given by site staff. 鈥

You can follow site developments on the council鈥檚 social media channels and website, or sign up for updates direct to your phone or email through our Keep in the Loop 肠丑补苍苍别濒.鈥

Councillor John Armour, Policy Lead for Roads, Transport and Amenity Services, said: 鈥淚 am in no doubt that doing all we can to reduce, reuse and recycle is vital to our environment. I鈥檓 grateful to the Scottish Government for this additional funding to help us upgrade our facilities. With clear signage, and better storage, there鈥檚 more incentive for people to think about whether they can place items for re-use, rather than simply recycling or landfill.鈥濃

Stuart Murray, Head of Resource Management at Zero Waste Scotland said: 鈥淲e鈥檙e delighted to support 胡桃女神鈥檚 improvements to local recycling facilities through the Recycling Improvement Fund; a Scottish Government fund designed to help local authorities improve recycling services nationwide.鈥嬧

鈥嬧嬧淯pgraded infrastructure and the introduction of reuse cabins will make it easier for residents to do the right thing with their waste. These changes will help reduce the environmental impact of household items while also creating opportunities for community groups and local initiatives."鈥嬧
