Local Place Plan Validation Form

This form will help us to validate your Local Place Plan based on the requirements set out in the Town and Country Planning (Local Place Plans) (Scotland) Regulations 2021.

Stages One, Two and Three must be fully completed for submission.

Important Notes

All documents submitted should adhere to the following guidelines:

  1. Copyright: All extracts, including maps should be credited with appropriate copyright notices.
  2. When producing the LPP, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) should be adhered to.
  3. To comply with 5i(c-f) of the Regulations, ºúÌÒÅ®Éñ must place on the LPP register the information provided in:
  • STAGE ONE: PRE-SUBMISSION POINT 4
  • STAGE THREE: INFORMATION TO BE SUBMITTED WITH THE LPP POINTS 8-12.

ºúÌÒÅ®Éñ will remove all personal details from points 8-12 prior to placing the information on the LPP register.

  1. When producing the LPP,  , where possible documents should be as accessible as possible. 

The maximum size of documents that can be hosted on the ºúÌÒÅ®Éñ website is 20mb, anything exceeding this would need to be compressed or divided up.

Stage One: Pre-submission

Prior to submitting a Local Place Plan to ºúÌÒÅ®Éñ, the community body must send copies of the Proposed LPP and an Information Notice to: 

  • Each councillor for the LPP area
  • Community councils within and adjoining the LPP area

The Information Notice must contain the following information:

  1. A brief description of the content and purpose of the proposed local place plan.
  2. Information as to how and to whom any representations on the content of the proposed local place plan should be made and the date by which they should be made.

The date by which any representations should be made must be a date which is not less than 28 days after the date on which the notice is sent.

Evidence of your pre-submission process is required by the Council as part of the validation process.

To comply with the Local Place Plan Regulations, ºúÌÒÅ®Éñ must place the information provided through point 4 below on the LPP register.

4. Evidence is required that the proposed LPP and Information Notice was sent to the required councillors and community councils above. Either:

Stage Two: Form and Content of the LPP

The following matters must be included within the Local Place Plan itself:

2. The LPP must include a map indicating the boundary to which the LPP relates to. The map should be sufficiently detailed as to enable the boundaries of the LPP area to be identified.

A digital boundary would also be appreciated eg. .shp, .dwg files. This can be emailed to: localplaceplans@argyll-bute.gov.uk

Stage Three: Information to be Submitted Alongside the LPP

Points 6 to 13 relate to information that must be submitted alongside the Local Place Plan.  You can use the form below to provide the information.

To comply with the Local Place Plan Regulations, ºúÌÒÅ®Éñ must place the information provided through points 8 to 12 below on the register alongside the Local Place Plan. 

6.Verification of status of Community Body

ii) Other community body - (this requires be a community-controlled body as defined in ). Supply a copy of the written constitution of the community body. Please send a copy of the constitution as an attachment to localplaceplans@argyll-bute.gov.uk

7. Provide contact details for the community body to which you wish correspondence by the planning authority to be sent to (please provide the details for only a single point of contact).

Provide a statement explaining how the Community Body has had regard to any current Locality Plan for the LPP area*.

*A locality plan means a locality plan published under section 10 of the Community Empowerment (Scotland) Act 2015. At the point that this checklist was produced (June 2025) there are no locality plans in place for the area. This checklist will be updated at the point any locality plans are published.

12. Provide a statement setting out the Community Body’s view of the level and nature of support for the LPP

The basis on which the community body has reached that view, including a description of any consultation by the community body in respect of the proposed LPP.

Provide a copy of any document which is referred to in the LPP (unless it is prepared and published by the planning authority).
